Learning to drive a manual car can be intimidating — it doesn’t have to be.
I offer low-pressure manual transmission lessons for drivers who are licensed but new to stick shift. The focus is building confidence and smooth control in a safe, low-pressure environment..
What we cover:
• clutch control & smooth takeoffs
• starting on flat ground (and mild inclines if ready)
• shifting basics & rev matching fundamentals
• stall recovery
• driving calmly in real-world conditions
How lessons work:
• First lessons take place in large, public parking lots in Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, or Lehi, giving a safe, low-traffic environment to get comfortable with a manual car.
• If you’re not yet confident driving, a friend can bring the car, or we can briefly meet at your location and drive straight to the practice area.
• Lessons are taught in your vehicle.
• Daytime only, dash cam is used for everyone’s safety.
Who this is for:
• brand-new manual drivers
• people who bought a manual and are nervous to drive it
• drivers who can “get around” but want to feel smoother and more confident
Who this is NOT for:
• racing, drift, or performance instruction
• anyone looking to drive aggressively or take unnecessary risks
About me:
I’m a local car enthusiast and stick-shift advocate. I learned to drive stick from my dad and now daily-drive a manual Civic. I remember the nerves of driving my first stick car on the street, and I want to help others get past that learning curve to enjoy their cars
