Are you in your first or second year at Brigham Young University?
Are you navigating new freedoms, expectations, faith, friendships, pressure, or uncertainty?
We are casting students for a documentary exploring the real experience of the first year of college at BYU. This project focuses on honesty, growth, and the moments people don’t always talk about.
Who we’re looking for:
Current BYU Freshmen or Sophomores
Comfortable being on camera
Willing to be open, thoughtful, and honest about your experiences
A variety of backgrounds, majors, personalities, and perspectives
You do not need acting or film experience. This is about real people, not performances.
What participation looks like:
On-camera interviews over time
Possible observational filming (classes, daily life, social spaces)
Respectful, professional production environment
Your story told with care and integrity
Important note:
Participants must be willing to speak candidly about their college experience — including challenges, doubts, growth, successes, and surprises. This is not scripted or staged.
To apply, please reply with:
Name
Age
Year at BYU (Freshman or Sophomore)
Major (if declared)
A short paragraph about why you’re interested
A recent photo (casual phone photo is fine)
Selected applicants will be contacted with more details.
If your first years of college have been meaningful, confusing, difficult, inspiring — or all of the above — your story matters.
